St. Marys Fire Department Responds to Residential Blaze, Family Escapes Safely
The St. Marys Fire Department, with assistance from neighboring emergency agencies, responded to a house fire on Monday in the 100 block of Mission Street in St. Marys, Kansas. The fire originated in a bedroom closet, according to the St. Marys Police Department. Fortunately, the family residing in the home was able to escape to safety without injury. Their quick action of shutting the bedroom closet doors immediately after discovering the fire played a crucial role in containing the flames and preventing their spread, allowing everyone to evacuate safely. The volunteer fire department in St. Marys responded promptly to extinguish the blaze. The Red Cross is currently providing assistance to the affected family, and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
