Thunderstorm Warnings Issued Across New York State
The National Weather Service has issued thunderstorm warnings across parts of New York as a line of storms moves through the state on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. These storms bring the potential for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, with the strongest activity likely occurring from the afternoon into the evening. Some storms may persist into the overnight hours. Areas in western and central New York, including Rochester and the Finger Lakes, are currently affected, with the system expected to move eastward into the Hudson Valley and downstate New York later in the day. Warnings are being issued on a storm-by-storm basis as conditions evolve.
