Coldest Night Since May Expected in NYC Area
The New York City area is bracing for its coldest night since May, with temperatures expected to drop into the mid-to-upper 40s °F (7–9 °C). Inland areas, including Orange and Putnam counties in New York, southern Connecticut, and Sussex County in New Jersey, are under a frost advisory from 11:00 p.m. Tuesday to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. These regions may experience temperatures in the upper 30s °F (3–4 °C) and isolated spots at or below freezing. Tuesday began with cool and windy conditions, but winds are expected to ease overnight, creating clear skies and light winds that will contribute to the chilly temperatures. A rapid warm-up is forecast for Wednesday, with highs near 70 °F (21 °C), followed by even warmer conditions on Thursday.
