Morgan State University Shooting Suspect Sentenced to 85 Years
Marquis Brown, one of the suspects involved in the 2023 mass shooting at Morgan State University, has been sentenced to 85 years in prison. Brown was convicted on five counts of attempted second-degree murder. The shooting, which occurred during a homecoming celebration, resulted in injuries to five individuals and led to the cancellation of several events. Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates emphasized the severity of the crime and the importance of holding Brown accountable for his actions. The other suspect, Javon Williams, is serving time for unrelated crimes in Washington, DC.
