Governor Reeves Appoints Amanda Jones Tollison to Mississippi Supreme Court
Governor Tate Reeves has announced the appointment of Amanda Jones Tollison of Oxford to the Mississippi Supreme Court, Northern District 3, Place 2. This appointment fills the vacancy left by the Honorable James D. Maxwell II, who was confirmed to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Tollison, currently a partner at Butler Snow LLP, brings extensive legal experience to the bench, having practiced administrative law, governmental and appellate litigation, regulatory compliance, and election law since 2012. Prior to her time at Butler Snow, she served as legal counsel to Governor Haley Barbour from 2008 to 2012, advising on judicial appointments, elections, budget issues, and disaster recovery efforts.
