Unlicensed Gates Daycare Operator Charged with Assault and Endangering Children's Welfare
Casey Raetz, an operator of an unlicensed daycare in Gates, New York, has been charged with multiple counts of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from allegations by the Monroe County District Attorney's Office that six children in her care were assaulted. Many of the injured children were babies or young toddlers, with some requiring hospitalization for their injuries. Raetz was initially arrested on June 16 by the Gates Police Department after a parent reported suspicious injuries. A first indictment involved five children, and a subsequent second indictment was issued after a sixth family came forward.
