Rochester's 85th St. NW Bridge to Undergo Major Repairs Following Truck Collision
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced a significant repair project for the 85th St. NW bridge north of Rochester, which was damaged by a dump truck with a raised bed on November 14 of last year. The incident led to substantial traffic disruptions and the temporary closure of southbound Hwy. 52. The repair work, scheduled to begin on August 20, will involve demolition, beam setting, and the pouring of a new bridge deck. During the repair period, short-term detours and lane closures will be implemented. Southbound Hwy. 52 will be closed from 7 p.m. on August 28 until 5 a.m. on August 31, while northbound Hwy. 52 will remain open. The project is expected to be completed by October, extending the lifespan of the overpass.
