Beloved NYC Bodega Cat Jabal Returned After Community Outcry and Police Intervention
Jabal, a beloved bodega cat from the 8th St. Mini Mart in Park Slope, Brooklyn, has been safely returned to his owner, Imad 'Jimmy' Innab, days after being snatched from the street. The incident, which occurred last Thursday, was captured on security footage showing a man picking up the kitten. The disappearance sparked 'crazy outrage' within the neighborhood, leading to a community-wide effort to find Jabal, including the creation and distribution of missing posters. Neighbors played a crucial role in convincing the couple who took the cat to return him. One of the individuals, a pink-haired woman, eventually sent a middleman to bring Jabal to the 78th precinct on Tuesday. Police then delivered the kitten back to Innab, who expressed immense joy and gratitude to the NYPD and the community. The woman involved is now in police custody, though charges have not yet been filed.
