City Center Fort Worth Cancels Annual 9/11 Memorial Tower Climb Due to Property Enhancements
City Center Fort Worth has announced the cancellation of its annual 9/11 Memorial Tower Climb, an event previously held at the Bank of America Tower. The decision stems from recent significant improvements and enhancements made to the downtown property, which property management states will impact the accessibility, logistics, and overall experience of the climb. While the specific nature of these enhancements was not elaborated upon by a City Center spokesperson, the announcement indicated that the changes would prevent the delivery of a smooth, safe, and successful event. Instead of the climb, City Center will display its 20-by-20-foot memorial quilt, featuring portraits of nearly 3,000 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, at the Fort Worth Fire Department’s 25th anniversary event at City Hall on September 11. City Center is also sponsoring the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb by donating printed photos of victims.
