Syracuse Police Department Enhances Patrols in Armory Square to Address Crime and Crisis
The Syracuse Police Department (SPD) has increased its patrol presence in Armory Square, a popular downtown area known for its nightlife. This initiative includes additional supervision and patrols on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, particularly during the summer months when the area sees increased foot traffic. SPD has partnered with agencies such as the New York State Police, Liberty Resources, Helio Health, and Mobile outreach via St. Joseph’s to not only deter crime but also assist individuals in crisis. The decision to enhance patrols comes as Thursday nights have become increasingly popular, necessitating a stronger police presence to ensure public safety and order.
