CNN Academy Expands to Japan, Empowering Future Multimedia Storytellers with AI Training
CNN Academy has successfully concluded its inaugural program in Japan, marking an expansion of its global initiative to train the next generation of multimedia storytellers. The program featured a hybrid curriculum focused on digital storytelling in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants first completed virtual coursework covering storytelling ethics and AI integration in newsrooms, followed by an intensive five-day in-person workshop hosted at Sophia University in Tokyo. The workshop was led by CNN award-winning international correspondent Hanako Montgomery, CNN award-winning producer Junko Ogura, mobile storytelling expert Glen Mulcahy, and media executive David Ford. The training equipped participants with fundamentals to produce impactful and high-quality stories ethically and efficiently, culminating in polished multiplatform projects.
