Wildfire Smoke Keeps Northwest Air Hazardous This Week
Hazardous wildfire smoke will persist across the Northwest this week, with eastern Washington and Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming facing poor air quality and hazy skies. Dry conditions, gusty winds and dry thunderstorms will keep wildfire danger very high, with new fires possible through Monday. Meanwhile, shifting westerly winds should push smoke away from Seattle and Portland, bringing some relief along the I-5 corridor. More smoke may reach the Great Lakes and Northeast early this week.
