Muted fall colors expected in Nashville this year
Fall foliage in Nashville and Middle Tennessee is expected to change color earlier than usual this year, with peak color anticipated on November 11, slightly ahead of the historical average. However, the quality of the fall color display is predicted to be less vibrant due to weather conditions. According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, temperatures in September and October are forecasted to average about one degree below normal, while rainfall is expected to be below average, with northern areas receiving two inches less precipitation and southern areas four inches less. AccuWeather reports that persistent clouds and rain, combined with a lack of clear nights and cooler air, will contribute to muted autumn colors across the region. The fall equinox, marking the official start of autumn, will occur on September 22 at 7:04 p.m. CT.
