Tennessee Man Arrested for Impersonating Police Officer After High-Speed Chase and DUI
A man identified as Darin Lawrence Jr. was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, for allegedly impersonating a police officer after being pulled over for driving over 100 mph and swerving across lanes. According to an arrest affidavit, Lawrence was observed aggressively tailgating another vehicle and swerving, nearly hitting the car he was following. Metro Nashville Police officers clocked him at 102 mph. Upon being pulled over, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and observed bloodshot, glassy eyes. Lawrence then began claiming to be a member of the Gallatin Police Department, stating he was "literally on Gallatin Police" and part of their academy as a trainee, even providing a sergeant's name. However, when officers contacted the Gallatin Police Department, they were informed that Lawrence was not employed by them and had failed out of their hiring process.
