Former Governor Phil Bredesen Endorses Chaz Molder for Congress in Tennessee's 5th District
Former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen has endorsed Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder for Congress in Tennessee's 5th Congressional District. Bredesen praised Molder for his focus on results rather than theatrics, highlighting his success as mayor. Molder is the frontrunner in the Democratic primary and will face either former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher or incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles in the general election. The district, recently redrawn to favor Republicans, includes 17 counties and stretches from Nashville suburbs to Memphis. Despite the redistricting, internal polling shows Molder trailing Ogles by only six percentage points, with a significant portion of voters undecided.
