Howard University Unenrolls 502 Students Over Tuition Payment Issues, Impacting Fall Semester Plans
Howard University has unenrolled 502 incoming first-year students due to unmet tuition payment requirements, just weeks before the fall semester begins. The university, a historically Black institution in Washington, D.C., communicated to these students that their accounts did not meet the necessary financial obligations by the set deadlines. Notifications regarding enrollment requirements and payment expectations were sent starting in March. Despite these communications, many students, including A’Zariah Miles from Knoxville, Tennessee, found themselves unenrolled, unable to secure a payment plan due to the outstanding amounts. The situation has led to widespread distress among affected students and their families, with many taking to social media to express their frustration and seek assistance.
