Dog Rescued from Tennessee Cliff After 17-Hour Ordeal
A 5-year-old Lagotto Romagnolo named Carl was successfully rescued from a narrow ledge on a 200-foot cliff in Dickson County, Tennessee, after being stranded for 17 hours. Carl, weighing 30 pounds, was visiting a friend's farm with his owner, Scott Grissom, when he went missing. Grissom later heard Carl from the cliff and realized he had fallen. The dog was located on a ledge approximately halfway down the cliff, which included a 70-foot sheer wall. The City of Dickson Fire Department, along with other emergency personnel, utilized a high-angle rope rescue system to safely retrieve Carl. Fire Marshal Mike Osman stated that drone footage was used to pinpoint Carl's exact location and plan the rescue operation. Carl was eager to be rescued, jumping into the arms of the rescuers, and was then secured in a duffel bag to be lifted back up the bluff. Nine individuals, including Grissom and the property owner, assisted in the rescue effort.
