Severe Storms, Tornado Risk in Oklahoma This Week
Oklahoma is bracing for waves of severe weather starting Tuesday evening and continuing through Thursday. According to KOCO 5 Meteorologist Jonathan Conder, the state faces a level 1 marginal risk for severe storms, with threats including tornadoes, strong winds of 60-70 mph, and heavy rainfall. Storms are expected to begin in northern and western Oklahoma on Tuesday night, with the risk of tornadoes increasing later in the evening. The severe weather threat will expand to western, central, and eastern Oklahoma on Wednesday, with the highest tornado risk south of a cold front. Rainfall totals are projected to range from 1 to 3 inches, with some areas potentially receiving more than 3 inches. The KOCO 5 First Alert Weather Team, led by Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane, is closely monitoring the situation.
