Fatal Head-On Crash on US 33 in Fairfield County Claims One Life, Injures Two
A head-on collision occurred on US 33 in Fairfield County, Ohio, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place around 6:15 p.m. near US 22 in Hocking Township. Cameron Lyon, 23, of Caledonia, was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Trax westbound when his vehicle was struck by a 2016 GMC Terrain, driven by Alvaro Uriber, 33, of Columbus. Investigators determined that Uriber's GMC Terrain, traveling eastbound, veered off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed into the westbound lanes after overturning, and then collided with Lyon's vehicle before catching fire. Lyon was transported to Fairfield Medical Center, where he later died. A passenger in the Chevrolet Trax, Abrielle Kerns, 23, of Lancaster, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital.
