Immigration Attorney Alexandra Lozano Accused of Widespread Visa Fraud, Clients Face Deportation Risk
Immigration attorney Alexandra Lozano is facing accusations of widespread visa fraud, with thousands of her former clients now fearing deportation. The Washington State Bar Association brought a disciplinary action against Lozano, alleging that she used non-legal staff to deliver scripted sales pitches with false information and sought U.S. visas for clients on humanitarian grounds, such as the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), even when they were not eligible. Lozano, who marketed herself as a 'lawyer of miracles' and used Mexican cultural and religious imagery, including the Virgin Mary, to attract clients, has agreed to permanently resign from practicing law in Washington and other jurisdictions. Her practice, which had offices in 13 states and handled over 53,000 pending visa petitions, charged clients between $10,000 and $15,000.
