Ohio State Students Engage in Disney Imagineering Program for Engineering Concepts
Twenty-nine students from The Ohio State University participated in the inaugural 'Around the World with Disney Imagineering' global education program. This four-week summer course allowed students from 15 different disciplines, including engineering and architecture, to explore collaborative creation processes used in Disney parks. The program, a first for Ohio State's Office of International Affairs to combine domestic and international travel, included visits to Disneyland Resort in California and Tokyo Disney. Students engaged in behind-the-scenes tours, Q&A sessions with Disney Imagineers, and met with Ohio State alumni working at Disney. Coursework involved designing a new park attraction, writing individual response papers on how their academic careers fit into Imagineering, and maintaining a travel journal.
