Alvaro Uribe Charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and DUI in Fatal Ohio Crash
Alvaro Uribe, 33, of Columbus, Ohio, is facing charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol following a fatal crash on U.S. Route 33 in Fairfield County. The incident occurred on Sunday around 6:15 p.m. when Uribe, driving eastbound, reportedly crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a car driven by 23-year-old Cameron Lyon of Caledonia. Lyon was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. His fiancée, who was a passenger, survived but sustained severe injuries. Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. Additionally, Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape stated that Uribe was living in the United States illegally, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been notified. Uribe was also operating the vehicle without a valid driver's license.
