Ohio River Closed Near Brent Spence Bridge After Crane Strikes Power Lines
The Ohio River has been closed to boat traffic between Mile markers 471 and 472 near the Brent Spence Bridge in Cincinnati, Ohio. This closure follows an incident where a crane on a barge struck Duke Energy power lines that cross the river. The Cincinnati Fire Department announced the closure, and Duke Energy crews are currently assessing the damage and working to secure the area. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. The Brent Spence Bridge itself remains open to vehicle traffic, and the incident has not impacted the project schedule for the Brent Spence Bridge Project.
