Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run on Way to Church
Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur was hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident on her way to a church service in Toledo. The incident occurred on August 2, 2026, when the vehicle she was in was struck by another car, whose driver fled the scene. Kaptur and her driver, Kegan Zimmerman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Toledo Police Department is investigating the incident and has made significant progress in identifying the driver responsible. Kaptur expressed gratitude for the support from her constituents and first responders.
