14 Tornadoes Confirmed in Ohio During August 11 Storms
The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed a total of 14 tornadoes that occurred during the severe storms on August 11, 2026, in Ohio. Among these, an EF1 tornado with 90 mph (145 km/h) winds traveled 11 miles from Butler County into Hamilton County, damaging trees and outbuildings. In Columbus, three tornadoes were confirmed, including an EF1 that caused significant structural damage and an EF0 that flipped a car on I-71, injuring two people. Another EF0 tornado was confirmed near Plain City, damaging crops. Additionally, the Storm Prediction Center classified the second round of storms as a derecho, with straight-line winds reaching up to 100 mph (161 km/h) in central and eastern Ohio.
