Ohio Prosecutor Confirms Amy Acton's Alleged Attack at Campaign Event Was a Hoax
Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro has confirmed that claims made by Ohio Democrat gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton regarding an alleged attack at a campaign event were a hoax. Acton had stated that an 'armed man,' identified as Patrick Havas, 'lunged' at her with a gun. However, Maro, citing video evidence from Havas's own recording, stated that Havas never got near Acton, did not lunge or charge at her, and never brandished a weapon. Havas was arrested for knocking two people to the ground while moving through a crowd, attempting to ask Acton a question and recording with his phone. His firearms were legally holstered throughout the incident. He has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges, including assault, disorderly conduct, and inducing panic.
