Baltimore Father Blames Satan for Infant Daughter's Death Amid Child Abuse Charges
A Baltimore father, Oscar Pineda, has blamed Satan for the death of his 2-month-old daughter, Aida Alvarado, after hospital staff discovered severe bruising on the infant's face. Pineda, 21, and the child's mother, Katerin Monzon-Alvarado, also 21, brought Aida to the hospital with extensive bruising around her eyes and jawline. Pineda initially claimed the infant was struck by a supernatural force or 'Satan' swinging a door. Aida later became unresponsive at the hospital and was pronounced dead. Medical examinations revealed severe head and brain trauma, including frontal lobe hemorrhaging, a subdural hemorrhage, and multiple skull fractures. Monzon-Alvarado provided a conflicting account, attempting to attribute the injuries to their 2-year-old son, suggesting he might have caused the baby to fall. Both parents, who are Guatemalan nationals, have been arrested and face charges of child abuse, assault, and reckless endangerment, carrying a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison.
