Waukesha Man Charged Following Meijer Hostage Situation and Police Shooting
Anthony J. Lehman, a 21-year-old Waukesha resident, has been charged with six felony counts, including first-degree reckless injury, false imprisonment, three counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and making terrorist threats. These charges stem from a July 30 incident at a Meijer store in Waukesha, Wisconsin. According to the criminal complaint, Lehman called 911 from inside the store, claiming to be armed with a knife and holding a hostage, demanding to speak with a negotiator. He was later encountered by officers near a 59-year-old man. Police stated that an officer fired three shots, striking Lehman in the abdomen and arm, after he refused commands to drop the knife and posed an immediate threat to the hostage.
