U.S. Rep. David Joyce Tours New MCCTC Medical Wellness and Education Center and LEAD Center
U.S. Rep. David Joyce, R-14th, recently toured the newly opened Medical Wellness and Education Center and the Leadership Employment Advancement Discovery (LEAD) Center at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center (MCCTC). The Medical Wellness and Education Center, a $7.5 million facility, is a public/private partnership providing medical and mental health services, including EMT, paramedic, and practical nursing programs, in collaboration with Mercy Health and Cadence Care Network. The $16 million LEAD Center integrates various technology and automation programs such as industrial robotics, cybersecurity, AI systems, HVAC, and welding education. This expansion allows MCCTC to enroll an additional 100 students. Representative Joyce emphasized the importance of hands-on education and problem-solving skills for future employment during his visit. His district now includes Mahoning County's Canfield and Austintown townships, along with all of Trumbull and Ashtabula counties.
