Israeli Forces Intercept Activist Flotilla Vessels Bound for Gaza
Israeli forces have intercepted the remaining vessels of an activist flotilla attempting to breach the naval blockade of Gaza. The flotilla, which departed from Turkey, aimed to draw attention to the dire conditions in Gaza, where nearly 2 million Palestinians face severe shortages of essential goods. The interception occurred approximately 167 miles from the Gaza coastline, with Israeli soldiers boarding the vessels and using non-lethal means to warn the activists. The flotilla organizers accused Israeli forces of using excessive force, including rubber bullets, a claim Israel denies. The activists, numbering over 400 from various countries, have been detained and are being transported to Israel.
