Union Cabinet Approves GOBARdhan Biogas Scheme and Assam Highway Project to Boost Connectivity
The Union Cabinet has approved two major projects with a combined investment of over Rs 32,000 crore. The GOBARdhan biogas scheme aims to significantly increase domestic biogas production, reducing India's reliance on imported natural gas. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance energy self-sufficiency. Additionally, a new four-lane highway will be constructed between Baihata Chariali and Tezpur in Assam, improving connectivity to various economic, social, and tourist nodes across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The highway project is expected to double travel speeds and halve travel times, enhancing road safety and fuel efficiency.
