Wellsley Farms Salmon Recalled for Listeria Risk in Seven States
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The affected product, sold in 2-pound packages, was distributed at BJ's Wholesale Club stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The salmon was available for purchase from January 31 to February 7, 2026, and is identified by a UPC of '888670025963' and lot code '3896'. The recall is precautionary, as no illnesses have been reported. Consumers are advised to check their freezers and dispose of the product or return it to BJ's for a refund. Listeria infection can cause severe symptoms, particularly in vulnerable populations such as the immunocompromised, pregnant women, the elderly, and young children.
