Chinese State-Owned Company Accused of Supplying Russia with Drone Materials Amid Sanctions
A Chinese state-owned company, Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, has reportedly supplied Russia's military industry with raw materials essential for manufacturing Geran attack drones. Internal shipping and customs documents, obtained by Politico journalists and analyzed by the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation (USCC), indicate that Jilin Chemical Fiber Group shipped two 40-foot containers, totaling 46 tons of polyacrylonitrile precursor, to the Russian company Alabuga-Volokno. This material is crucial for producing high-strength carbon fiber used in the airframes and structural components of Geran loitering munitions. The quantity supplied is estimated to be sufficient for approximately 1,300 strike UAVs. To bypass international export controls, the shipment was declared under a civilian customs classification.
