European Leaders Meet in London to Discuss Ukraine's Defense Amid Russian Strikes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London to discuss further support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening air defenses. This meeting follows a Russian drone strike that killed three people in Ukraine and damaged a nuclear storage site near Chernobyl. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of Europe's role in peace negotiations with Russia. The leaders of the UK, France, and Germany, known as the E3 group, have been key supporters of Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The discussions focused on providing security guarantees for Ukraine and enhancing its defense capabilities.
