Army Veteran Sean Michael Lee, Rescuer of Fox News Reporter, Dies at 50
Sean Michael Lee, a 20-year Army paratrooper veteran who served multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division, passed away on Sunday at the age of 50 after a battle with esophageal cancer. Lee's cancer was directly linked to his exposure to burn pits during his military service. After his military career, Lee continued his dedication to service, notably assisting in the evacuation of thousands from conflict zones. In 2021, he worked with the nonprofit Save Our Allies to help evacuate people during the collapse of Afghanistan's government. A year later, in Ukraine, Lee played a crucial role in the extraction of Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall, who was severely injured when Russian forces attacked his vehicle near Kyiv, an incident that killed two of Hall's crew members.
