IAEA Chief Urges Iran to Resume Nuclear Inspections Amid Tensions
Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has called on Iran to re-engage with the agency to resume inspections at nuclear sites bombed by the US and Israel a year ago. The US, backed by Britain, France, and Germany, is pushing for a resolution demanding Iran provide detailed information on these sites and the enriched uranium stored there. The resolution is expected to pass, but it may complicate ongoing US-Iran talks aimed at extending a ceasefire and addressing Iran's nuclear program. Iran has warned against using the IAEA board to absolve those responsible for the bombings, suggesting that coercion could undermine diplomatic solutions.
