US Military Partners with Tech Giants to Integrate AI in Defense Systems
The US Department of Defense has entered into agreements with seven major tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services, to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its classified systems. This initiative aims to enhance decision-making capabilities in complex operational environments. The move comes amid growing concerns about the ethical implications of AI in military applications, highlighted by the absence of Anthropic, a company that has raised concerns about AI's use in autonomous weapons and surveillance.
