Great Yarmouth Workers Continue Strike Amid Unresolved Pay Dispute
Waste and street cleaning workers in Great Yarmouth are continuing their strike as a pay dispute remains unresolved. The workers, represented by the Unite union, have rejected a 3.3% pay increase, arguing for wages comparable to those in neighboring areas. The industrial action involves staff from Great Yarmouth Services, which provides environmental services for the borough council. Despite the strike, the council reports that refuse collections and other services are ongoing, albeit with some disruptions. Talks between the union and the council are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached.
