Ukraine Confirms Strike on Bashneft-Novoil Refinery in Ufa, Impacting Russian Military Support
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has confirmed that Ukraine's Defense Forces conducted strikes on the Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery in Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia. The strikes, which occurred on April 1 and 2, targeted key enemy infrastructure, including the refinery, which is a significant component of Russia's fuel and energy complex. The refinery, located approximately 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine's border, is one of Russia's largest producers of high-quality oils and supports the Russian military. The attack resulted in a fire at the facility, confirmed by Radiy Khabirov, the head of Bashkortostan. Additionally, strikes were carried out on the Kulikovsky training ground and an ammunition depot in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, as well as on areas of enemy troop concentration in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The extent of the damage and enemy losses are still being assessed.
