Fatal Train Collision in Indonesia Leaves 14 Dead and 84 Injured
A train collision near Jakarta, Indonesia, has resulted in 14 fatalities and 84 injuries. The accident involved a commuter train and a long-distance train in Bekasi, just outside Jakarta. Rescue operations are ongoing to extricate survivors trapped in the wreckage. The collision occurred when a long-distance train struck the rear of a stationary commuter train, which had stopped due to a taxi clipping it on a level crossing. The commuter train's last carriage, designated for women, bore the brunt of the impact. Emergency services, including the military and Red Cross, are involved in the rescue efforts.
