INTERPOL and IDB Collaborate to Enhance Security in Latin America and the Caribbean
INTERPOL and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have announced a collaboration to form the Rapid Response Task Force, aimed at providing specialized support to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean facing security and justice challenges. This initiative was unveiled at the Regional Security and Justice Summit in Brazil. The task force will offer international expertise and operational knowledge to address complex security issues in the region. An initial pilot will be conducted in Brazil, with a technical cooperation fund of $100,000 allocated for the first stage. The task force has already been activated in countries like Peru, Jamaica, Guatemala, and Brazil, contributing to national security plans and operational continuity in the face of natural disasters.
