According to CNN's chief data analyst Harry Enten, the Democratic Party is in its strongest position in decades as the 2026 midterm elections approach. Current polling data indicates that Democrats are more likely to vote than Republicans, with a significant lead in voter identification and generic House ballot preferences. This advantage is attributed to a combination of factors, including low consumer sentiment and a shift in the Democratic coalition towards more college-educated voters, who are traditionally more likely to participate in elections.
