Aliyah Ministry Reports Decline in Holocaust Survivors Immigrating to Israel Amid Gaza Conflict
The Aliyah Ministry has announced that approximately 120 Holocaust survivors immigrated to Israel during the recent Israel-Hamas conflict. This immigration, known as aliyah, is part of a broader trend of declining numbers of Holocaust survivors moving to Israel. The ministry attributes this decline to the increasing age of the survivors, making relocation more challenging, and the natural decrease in their numbers over time. Since 2016, a total of 2,316 Holocaust survivors have made aliyah, with a peak of 815 immigrants in 2022. Despite the challenges, the ministry remains committed to supporting these individuals, recognizing their immigration as a testament to the resilience of the Jewish spirit.
