Melania Trump Addresses Absence, Expands 'Fostering the Future' Initiative with Scholarship Donations
First Lady Melania Trump made her first public appearance in a month, addressing reports of her absence by stating, "I heard you missed me. Here I am." She joined President Trump at a Rose Garden event to announce the expansion of her 'Fostering the Future' initiative. This expansion includes a $2 million donation from IndyCar and Fox Sports to establish scholarships for foster care children at Indiana University and Purdue University. These universities are now the 25th and 26th U.S. institutions to offer such scholarships. The First Lady has spent the summer at the President's golf club in Bedminster, NJ, to be with her son, Barron, during his summer break from New York University, and to avoid construction noise at the White House.
