Fox News Poll Shows Democrat James Talarico Leading Ken Paxton in Texas Senate Race
A recent Fox News poll indicates that Democratic candidate James Talarico is leading Republican incumbent Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race. The poll, conducted between July 23-27, shows Talarico with 51% of likely voter support compared to Paxton's 48%. This development marks a significant milestone as Talarico is the first Democrat in decades to potentially secure a statewide office in Texas. The poll was conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research, involving 1,006 registered Texas voters, with a margin of error of three points. Talarico's campaign has gained momentum amid controversies surrounding Paxton, including allegations of voter fraud, a $9 million real estate empire, and past accusations of bribery. These issues have reportedly caused some Republican PACs and donors to distance themselves from Paxton.
