Berlin Rejects U.S. Criticism of Europe's Strategic Direction
Berlin has dismissed the U.S. national security strategy's critical portrayal of Europe, which was described as 'ideological rather than strategic.' The strategy, published last week, criticized Europe for being over-regulated and at risk of 'civilizational erasure' through immigration. It also suggested that the U.S. would work to cultivate resistance to Europe's current trajectory within European nations. German government spokesman Sebastian Hille stated that Berlin rejects the critical tone directed at the EU, emphasizing Germany's alignment with NATO's view that Russia poses a major threat. This response highlights Germany's defense of Europe's political freedoms and its stance against the U.S. strategy's implications.
