Artemis II Pilot Victor Glover Expresses Gratitude After Historic Lunar Mission
Artemis II astronaut Victor Glover publicly expressed his gratitude to God and the support system that enabled the mission's success. The crew, which included Commander Reid Wiseman, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, returned from a historic mission that took them farther from Earth than any previous human mission. During a public appearance in Houston, Texas, Glover emphasized the significance of the mission as a part of human history, rather than focusing solely on racial or gender milestones. The mission marked the first time a woman and a Black astronaut were part of a lunar mission crew. The astronauts shared their experiences, highlighting the technical challenges and personal impacts of the journey, including the strong bonds formed among the crew members.
