Germany Establishes Hotline for Exiled Russians Amid Rising Foreign Operative Threats
Germany's domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), has launched a dedicated hotline for exiled groups and political dissidents residing in Germany. This initiative aims to combat intimidation, surveillance, and physical violence perpetrated by foreign operatives within the country. The BfV published a brochure on Thursday, advertising the hotline and encouraging individuals who have sought refuge from authoritarian governments, particularly those from Russia, Iran, and China, to report incidents. The information collected through this hotline will assist intelligence analysts in identifying, mapping, and countering foreign operative networks operating in Europe. The agency stated that reports from affected individuals could directly aid ongoing investigations and help thwart active threats.
