Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship Program Joins TEPHINET, Bolstering Public Health Workforce Development
The Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship program, administered by Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, has been accepted as an Advanced Field Training Program Member of the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET). This global network is dedicated to strengthening the public health workforce. The Rollins program is only the second U.S.-based program to achieve this advanced membership, alongside the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service. The fellowship, which began as a COVID-19 response initiative, supports Georgia’s state and local health districts while developing early-career epidemiologists. Shelby Rentmeester, director of the program, emphasized that connecting with the TEPHINET community will deepen the learning experience for fellows.
