Switzerland Publishes 200-Page Dossier on Nazi War Criminal Josef Mengele
The Swiss federal intelligence service has published a 200-page dossier concerning the notorious Nazi war criminal Josef Mengele, known as the 'Angel of Death.' Mengele was a German doctor infamous for conducting horrific medical experiments on prisoners, including children, at the Auschwitz extermination camp during World War II. Approximately 1.1 million people were killed at Auschwitz, with about 1 million being Jewish. After the war, Mengele used a Red Cross travel document under a false identity to escape Europe and spent years in hiding in Latin America, eventually dying in Brazil in 1979.
